Becca came home beaming today. She was nominated to go to Washington DC in the Fall for a Junior Leadership conference. There were five kids in her class nominated to go. Yay Becca!
She has had a great week. Yesterday they had class elections and she will be the Treasurer (like mother -like daughter, we both love numbers:)
She is doing very well in swimming. She can now swim 4 lengths of the pool on the Butterfly without stopping. She just needs to work on her technique a little more and she'll be ready to compete. That is her favorite stroke. I don't know yet when she will have a meet, hopefully not when we're in CA.
She's nervous about starting Middle School next year but very excited at the opportunities she is being blessed with. We keep telling her that God will honor her for standing firm in her faith, now she is beginning to see that. It isn't the popular kids who are being recognized, but the ones who are genuine.
Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's God's gift from start to finish! We don't play the major role. If we did, we'd probably go around bragging that we'd done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.
