Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It's God's gift from start to finish! We don't play the major role. If we did, we'd probably go around bragging that we'd done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

September Newsletter

September 2007

Greetings Family and Friends,
Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support. It was great to see many of you in June when we were able to spend a week in Washington. We apologize to those of you we did not get to see, there just wasn’t enough time in one week to get with everyone. On our way home to Nevada, we spent a couple of days resting in Oregon. We were anxious to get home, yet knew we needed a day of “nothingness” to rest before returning home.

Upon arriving home, we began youth group. We currently have 4 other adults besides us that have volunteered to work with the youth. It has been going well, and we are praying for growth with the beginning of a new school year.

The end of July brought a Community Block Party, hosted by our church. We were able to reach about 100 people through this event and hope that it will become an annual event that grows each year. We also held VBS at the end of July. The kids excitement built each day as the week progressed. We had a total of 62 kids for the week and 22 volunteers. God is Awesome!

Grady, Spencer and Becca began school August 21. We are praising God for bringing a band teacher and a trades teacher to our Jr./Sr. High. Grady is in 9th grade and is taking woodshop this year, as well as ceramics (he didn’t want to do weight training!) and band. It’s hard to believe that he’s in high school. Spencer is in 8th grade and is taking band this year and is looking forward to next year when he can take the “fun” classes. Becca is in 5th grade and is continuing Girl Scouts. Her favorite class is music and she is looking forward to next year and being able to take band as well.

Prayer requests:
· Praise the Lord for safe travel this summer as we went to Staff Conference in Californian then to Washington
· Praise the Lord for the new teachers who have come to our schools this year, pray that they would have a desire to stay and that they would be a postitive influence on the students here
· Pray that our congregation would have a desire to grow in their relationship with the Lord and that they would get involved in serving Him
· Pray for wisdom and guidance for us as we encourage our congregation to serve. Specific areas needing prayer are Women’s and Men’s Ministries. Pray for a strong leadership team for both and for God’s direction. Also for our Sunday School program, Children’s and Youth Ministries
· Pray for Grady, Spencer, and Becca to do well in school and to make solid, lasting friendships
· Pray for Butch and Jennifer to find time to spend together in the midst of serving our Lord
· Praise the Lord that He continues to provide the extra finances we need to cover Becca’s Orthodontics and family Dental and Vision expenses

We are still raising money for a new projection system for the church, if you would like to give to this fund contact us and we'll tell you how. We are also collecting books to update our church lending library. As always we would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your prayers and support. If you are not currently supporting us financially and would like to, contact us and we'll tell you how. We appreciate the encouragement you give to us. Without you we could not do what we do!

Serving Him Together,
Butch, Jennifer, Grady, Spencer and Becca Hallenbeck
